The Middlefield slice, roughly 1,500 acres, of one of MassWildlife's largest wildlife management areas, running along the Middle Branch of the Westfield River up toward Pelton Hill. Northern hardwood forest with hemlock along the stream corridors shelters deer, black bear, bobcat, and ruffed grouse, and the stretch of the Little River here is stocked with trout.
