A 7,700-plus acre state forest of old-growth hemlock groves and some of New England's tallest trees, spanning Charlemont, Hawley and Savoy. The developed campground, cabins and Cold River swimming hole sit on the Charlemont side off Route 2; Savoy's share is the quieter eastern trail country.
