A roughly mile-long, hand-dug tidal creek connecting Long Pond to Madaket Harbor, first cut around 1665 as Nantucket's first public works project. Public access is mainly through Land Bank land near the Hither Creek end, since other sections are split among the Town, the Land Bank, and the Madaket Conservation Association.
