Common questions

Is Bash Bish Falls State Park open today?
Bash Bish Falls State Park is a public preserve in Mount Washington, MA. Posted hours: Half hour before sunrise to half hour after sunset, unless otherwise posted (statewide DCR rule).
Can I swim at Bash Bish Falls?
No. The pool below the falls looks calm but hides rocks and a shallow bottom, and DCR closed the stairs and rock access after multiple deaths. The falls are for viewing only, from the overlook.
Where do I park if the lot is full?
The Massachusetts lot on Falls Road holds around 15 cars. Overflow means driving around to the Taconic State Park lot in Copake Falls, New York, which has roughly 30 spaces and its own trail to the falls. Roadside parking on Falls Road or Route 344 is never allowed.
Can I bring my dog to Bash Bish Falls State Park?
Leashed or tethered (10-foot max) except while hunting, hunt-dog training, or search-dog training, under DCR's statewide pet rule; pets are banned from designated swimming areas May 1 through Sept 15
