Chesterfield Gorge is a rock canyon on the East Branch of the Westfield River, with walls up to seventy feet high cut by centuries of fast water. A half-mile trail runs along the cliff top past the stone abutments of a bridge built around 1762, and the river through the gorge itself is too dangerous for swimming or wading.
