Common questions

Can I get down to the water from here?
High Head Beach on Cape Cod Bay is nearby, but reaching it takes either a short hike over the dunes or an off-road-vehicle permit (issued in Provincetown); this isn't a drive-up beach.
Is this the same as the Head of the Meadow bike trail?
They share a trailhead. The 2-mile paved Head of the Meadow Bike Trail starts at the same High Head Road lot and heads south to Head of the Meadow Beach, separate from this preserve's sandy walking loop.
Is there an entry fee at High Head Conservation Area?
Yes, Free; no entrance or parking fee found
Can I bring my dog to High Head Conservation Area?
Dogs are allowed. Leash rules and clean-up requirements usually apply, so check posted signs.
Is High Head Conservation Area wheelchair accessible?
Sandy, natural-surface trail with some grade; not step-free or wheelchair accessible
