Birch Hill Dam

A 1942 Army Corps flood-control dam and reservoir straddling Templeton, Winchendon, and Royalston, leased to the state since 1976 for hiking, fishing, hunting, and seasonal camping across thousands of surrounding acres. The Corps periodically releases water from the dam to support whitewater canoeing, kayaking, and rafting on the Millers River downstream.
