DCR state forest made up of three separate parcels totaling about 693 acres, mostly in Oakham with a small outlying parcel in Rutland. A stretch of the Midstate Trail crosses the main parcel, passing the glacial erratic known as Sampsons Pebble, a local bouldering spot.
