A 395-acre barrier beach that shelters Nantucket Harbor from the Sound, home to rare plants, dwarf cedars, and nesting birds. It's reachable mainly by private boat or 4x4 with an oversand permit, and the Foundation keeps a ranger on site to meet visitors arriving either way.
