A rugged, 1,800-plus-acre state forest straddling Heath and Colrain right up against the Vermont line, with 893 acres inside Heath itself. Old logging roads thread through northern hardwoods, hemlock groves, and mossy bogs at 1,400 to 1,600 feet, with no marked trails or facilities.
