A former downhill ski area on Route 9 in West Cummington, run as Berkshire Snow Basin until it closed in 1989, sold to the Commonwealth in 1994. Its old ski trails, cleared runs named Main Slope and West Loop among them, are still walkable through what's now a DCR forest.
