A 47-acre AVIS reservation at the end of Dale Street, between the Shawsheen River and the Ballardvale train station. The easy 2.1-mile Shawsheen River and Vale Reservation loop passes the gnarled roots of the so-called Octopus Tree before crossing a boardwalk back to the lot.
