A 1,065-acre lake, the largest recreational body of water in western Massachusetts, ringed by hills and mostly enclosed by Tolland State Forest. A lifeguarded sand beach and a concrete boat ramp sit inside the state forest boundary off Main Road; the ramp draws a steady trailer line on summer weekends.
