Sailors Home Pond is a 1.7-acre stormwater retention pond at Rice Road and Wendell Avenue, named for a 19th-century retired-sailors' boarding house that once stood on its shore. The city recently completed a dredging and restoration project here, and turtles have returned to the restored habitat.
