Lincoln's primary drinking-water supply, known locally by both names: Sandy Pond and Flint's Pond. The town spent from 1958 to 2014 acquiring the land ringing it, so the shoreline is fully protected and closed to the water itself; trails circle the pond at a distance, with a roughly 3.5-mile loop around the whole perimeter and a shorter 1.5-mile loop from the DeCordova lot.
