Common questions

What is the Upton Cave?
A stone chamber reached through a six-foot-high, fourteen-foot tunnel into a beehive-shaped domed room about twelve feet across, one of the largest of the roughly 300 such chambers found across the Northeast.
Is it good for young kids?
The walk to the chamber is short and flat, but the tunnel interior is unlit and low, so it suits curious older kids better than toddlers.
Where do I park at Heritage Park?

Is there an entry fee at Heritage Park?

Can I bring my dog to Heritage Park?
Dogs are welcome on Upton conservation land but must stay leashed at all times, and leashed in town parks, on athletic fields, and on the town common under the Canine Control Bylaw. Hunting dogs may work off leash under voice command.
