Can dogs come off-leash, and where?
On the Wiley Park / Nickerson Conservation Area trails only, dogs may be off-leash in summer if reliably under voice control (a 2023-24 town proposal to require leashes on those trails was tabled after opposition from dog owners); dogs must be leashed in the parking lot and are barred from the beach/playground area Jun 15-Labor Day under the general town beach rule.
Is there a playground, and what's it like?
Yes - a modern playground with rubber safety flooring, plus a platform where kids can jump into Great Pond alongside the swimming area.
Are there walking trails?
Yes - the Lady Slipper Trail loops through the adjoining Wiley Park/Nickerson Conservation Area for about 0.91 miles on natural dirt, with only modest elevation change, an easy walk for most visitors.
