Why is this field named after Connie Mack?
Connie Mack, born Cornelius McGillicuddy in 1862 in what's now East Brookfield, managed the Philadelphia Athletics for fifty consecutive seasons and won five World Series titles. The town dedicated this field's marker to him on June 29, 1970, with a plaque donated by the Philadelphia National League Baseball Club.
