The Norwottuck Rail Trail is an 11-mile paved multiuse path along a former rail bed, running through Amherst between Northampton/Hadley and the Belchertown line. It's flat, mostly shaded and popular with cyclists, runners and walkers, with several small trailheads along the Amherst stretch.
