The smallest of Scituate's six beaches, backed by a seawall and reached down a set of concrete stairs at Jericho and Turner Roads. It narrows fast at high tide, and the tiny lot means it's usually the first beach in town to fill on a summer weekend.

Common questions

Is Sand Hills in Scituate open today?
Open, no advisory on record in the latest MA DPH posting (updated 2026-07-16). MA DPH is the authority. Check the status the morning you go.
How early do I need to arrive at Sand Hills Beach to get a parking spot?
It's the smallest lot in town at just 24 spaces (2 handicap), so it fills fastest of Scituate's six beaches on summer weekends - plan to arrive early or have a backup beach in mind.
Are there restrooms at Sand Hills?
Public restrooms are listed near the beach. Seasonal hours are common, so they may be closed off-season.
What rules should I know at Sand Hills?
No glass containers on the beach or in beach parking lots. No littering or dumping of household trash; all beach refuse must be removed by the user. No dogs (leashed or unleashed) 10am-6pm, June 15-Sept 15; leashed required at all other times.
