A 1.3-mile stretch of state-run sand on Massachusetts Bay, backed by a paved boardwalk with the historic Paragon Carousel and a run of fried-clam shanties. The south end fills with cobblestones as the tide drops, so people who want smooth sand and easier water access tend to head for the north end near the Cook Comfort Station.

Common questions

Is Nantasket in Hull open today?
Open, no advisory on record in the latest MA DPH posting (updated 2026-07-16). MA DPH is the authority. Check the status the morning you go.
Where do I park if the lot is full?
The DCR lots along Nantasket Ave and Hull Shore Drive are the only fee lots; on summer weekends they fill by mid-morning and DCR does not designate overflow parking, so arrive early or use the MBTA boat/bus to Nantasket.
Is it wheelchair accessible?
Beach wheelchairs and a beach mat are available seasonally at the Cook Comfort Station and MJM bathhouse; the north end of the sand is flatter and easier to cross than the cobblestones at the south end.
Does an annual state parks pass cover parking here?
Yes. The Massachusetts State Parks annual parking pass costs $60 for MA residents (a $10 lifetime pass is available for residents 62 and older) and covers parking for the calendar year at every fee DCR lot statewide, including this one.
Are there restrooms at Nantasket?
Public restrooms are listed near the beach. Seasonal hours are common, so they may be closed off-season.
What rules should I know at Nantasket?
Swim only when lifeguards are on duty; rip currents possible. No alcohol; no glass; no fires.
