Duxbury Beach is a six-mile barrier beach separating Duxbury Bay from Cape Cod Bay, narrow enough in places to see both shorelines. The bay side is calm and marshy while the ocean side gets real surf, and the paid Duxbury Beach Park entrance near Gurnet Road is the main way most visitors reach the sand.
